Mid-Century Modern sterling silver footed round tray made by Gorham Mfg. Company between 1933-1944 (lack of a date stamp gives us that range). Pattern #424. There are 6 panels with a scalloped rim and it sits on a round foot. There are no monograms but there is a delicate filigree engraving pattern in an Art Nouveau style, contrasting nicely with it's Art Deco lines. This piece is 10 1/4" in diameter, 1 1/2" tall and it is made of heavy gauge silver weighing 488 grams.
This tray is in very good, pre-owned, used condition. No distracting dings or dents but does have light surface scratches from use, polishing and storage. I have lightly polished this piece but it could use a really good polishing/buffing. Please see all pictures for details.
I conduct thorough research in the effort to accurately identify items, and am sure to also highlight any potential issues with the pieces. The majority of the items I provide are vintage or antique, which should exhibit wear and characteristics consistent with age. Please closely examine the photographs, as they are a part of the description.
